About F1 in Schools

F1 in Schools is the only global multi-disciplinary challenge in which teams of students aged 9 to 19 deploy CAD/CAM software to collaborate, design, analyze, manufacture, test, and then race miniature compressed air powered F1 cars. Providing opportunities to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and math (STEM) related subjects in an exciting way.

The challenge inspires students to use IT to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, marketing, leadership/teamwork, media skills and financial strategy, and apply them in a practical, imaginative, competitive and exciting way.

A team has to be formed that should comprise of Team manager, Design Engineer, Resource Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Sponsorship Manager and Graphic Designer. Forming a team doesn’t only mean that you should sit together but to establish your own identity through name, color schemes and logo

Past Experiences

We at Team Rapid Racers participated in the Regional Finals of 2019, where we won the Women in Motorsports Award and were selected for the National Finals 2019-2020, out of a total of around 40 teams. It was a wonderful and hard-earned opportunity! We received the Verbal Presentation Award and were nominated for the Women in Motorsport Award and the Chair of Judges Special Mention Award. We are one of the youngest teams to ever be qualified for the F1 in Schools National Finals. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun through this journey and can’t wait to make more memories.

Our Vision

“Speeding through boundaries making HERstory” signifies our goal to break the stereotype around women in motorsports and do so while ingraining our name into history, but in our own way – leading many women and girls with us.

Being an all-girls’ team is an interesting challenge. We are one of the few teams participating in Formula 1 in Schools that only has female members. We stand for Women Empowerment and girls in STEM education.

Our goal is to garner more support for all the women participating in F1 in Schools and to give a us all a platform to raise our voices. This is a crucial initiative to make the world of motorsport more diverse and give women equal opportunities in the field of STEM.
